Leadify has developed technology that helps businesses engage the people in those conversations and, as a result, those companies get out in front of that curve." Jim Barksdale, Former CEO, Netscape identifying values, target audiences and unique qualities. Leadify singled out distinctive attributes to use as a starting point for creating effective messages, such as the university's desirable location, strong academic programs and excellent extracurriculars. By highlighting these features, Leadify finds the people who didn't know they were interested in attending Mississippi College. For instance, let's say there's a high school senior in Kentucky who's been riding horses since she was a kid. She's planning to go to college nearby, but sees a tweet about Mississippi College's Equestrian Program. After further exploration, she considers going to Mississippi College so she can keep riding. She would have never found Mississippi College through a direct search because she wasn't planning to attend college in Mississippi. This example highlights Leadify's philosophy that it's not all about who is following you, it's about who is picking up your conversations. Jim Turcotte, Ph.D., vice president of enrollment management and student affairs for Mississippi College, shares that the Leadify team has helped them change the way they view conversations with their students, donors and alumni. "Instead of the traditional approach of promoting our university, we are engaging people in genuine conversations on topics of their choosing," said Turcotte. "Our fall freshman class of 2013 was the largest and most geographically diverse group in our 187-year history. The Leadify strategy of social engagement has contributed to this record success and has increased the bottom line at a time in history when most universities are experiencing declining enrollment." Internet legend Jim Barksdale thinks Leadify is on to something big. "Doesn't every business want to find customers who haven't been looking for them?" asked Barksdale, former CEO of the pioneering Web browser company, Netscape. "There are huge numbers of people who will never search for you, but need to be your customers. Those customers have millions of conversations every day on social networks. Leadify has developed technology that helps businesses engage the people in those conversations and, as a result, those companies get out in front of that curve." Founded in 2012, Leadify is experiencing rapid growth as one of Mississippi's newest technology startup companies. Since their inception, they have grown from four employees to 20. In addition to their headquarters in Mississippi, they currently have offices in Colorado, Florida, Massachusetts and Virginia. ‚óŹ Visit www.leadify.net for more information. www.innovate.ms 51
